Earth Day Focaccia
Happy Earth Day!
As a family we always try to do our part to protect the planet. We compost, recycle, conserve water, and many other things to save our planet.
Because we are sheltering in place this year we are celebrating in a different way.
Yesterday I made homemade focaccia using Anne Burrell’s recipe. I use this recipe whenever I make focaccia because it always comes out perfectly. However this time I wanted to kick it up a notch.
After seeing something similar on Instagram I decided to give the focaccia an Earth Day Day spin. I added herbs, garlic, mini heirloom tomatoes, and scallions to create a floral arrangement. I had originally planned to add a yellow squash sun but one of my children snuck in and ate it!
I actually think it would be really fun to create works of art all the time with herbs and vegetables. Of course after we can find yeast and flour again in the stores!
