Learning to Cricut #1

I recently bought a Cricut Maker and I am absolutely in love with it! I have already started making little projects and am beginning to learn how it all works.

There are so many projects that can be done with this machine. From paper projects, fabric, and creating stencils. My machine was delivered just before Easter so I haven’t had much practice yet. However, I have done projects with paper and vinyl. I made a few little eggs and leaves for the tops of my goldfish carrots. I have been thinking up lots of different things to do next.

Luckily we live in the world of technology and we have YouTube. I have been watching a ton of how-to videos and they are extremely helpful. There are so many inspiring people offering up a cornucopia of knowledge that they have learned and are sharing with the world. Many bloggers have posted on Pinterest helpful hints and tips to using a Cricut. Furthermore some also offer free downloads for fonts and images to use yourself.

My goal is to get enough practice to make decorations for my kids birthdays. Whether or not we are able to have parties for them is still up in the air but I want to be able to make their days special regardless. Our son wants a Star Wars theme and I have decided our daughter will have a pirate party so there is a lot of opportunity to make decorations for each of them.

I will continue to learn and figure out this machine. I am well aware I won’t be an expert any time soon but I am willing to take the time to learn.
