Stovetop Maple Bacon Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 6 slices Uncooked bacon
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  • Carefully cut the bacon into 1/2 inch to 1 inch pieces.
  • Heat a large skillet and add the pieces of bacon in to cook. You may have to do this in two batches.
  • When the bacon has finished cooking, place it on a paper towel lined plate to remove any extra grease.
  • Save 2 tbsp of the bacon fat/oil and place it in a large pot on medium high heat.
  • Put 2 corn kernels in the pot and cover.
  • While those are heating up, place the bacon in a bowl with the maple syrup. Gently toss or stir to make sure all of the pieces are covered.
  • When the two pieces pop, the oil is ready. Remove from heat and add the remaining kernels.
  • Return pot to the stove at medium heat and gently move the pot over it while partly covered. The popcorn will begin to pop.
  • When all the kernels have popped, place the popcorn in a large bowl and add in the maple bacon. Enjoy!
